Harley Quinn- Recently, DC and Warner Bros. announced that they would make a spin-off film for the DC Universe. The spin-off film will be developed from the characters involved in the Suicide Squad film.
There are three films planned, namely, The Joker, Captain Boomerang, and a spin-off film about Harley Quinn in which there will be other female characters from the DC world.
Why is this Harley Quinn spin-off film something special?
This film is considered to be one of DC’s secret weapons to compete with Marvel, who have started building their cinematic universe since 2008.
Until now, Marvel has not made a film with a female character. Marvel has just planned to make a film about Black Widow which was planned to air in 2012, but has been canceled until now.
Marvel also plans to make a Captain Marvel film which has also been hit by a delay in its broadcast schedule twice.
Because of this, Harley Quinn’s figure can be something special for connoisseurs of superhero films. Moreover, Harley Quinn is not a superhero, but a criminal.
The action of Harley Quinn, played by actress Margot Robbie, will be enjoyed through the film Suicide Squad in August.
Maybe some people are still quite unfamiliar with this female villain, because the most famous criminal from the DC world is The Joker.
However, Harley Quinn has become one of the criminals favored by Batman comic fans since the 90’s. Then who and what does Harley Quinn look like?
Debut From TV Animation Series
Harley Quinn’s character first appeared in a Batman story not from a comic. Harley Quinn first appeared in the animated television series Batman entitled The Joker’s Favor in 1992.
The appearance of Harley Quinn managed to attract attention so that she then appeared in the Batman comic book which was released in 1994 with the title The Batman Adventures: Mad Love, which was later re-appeared in the animated TV series Batman entitled Mad Love.
Harley Quinn’s real figure is a woman named Harleen Quinzel. Harleen is an internal psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum. When analyzing the Joker’s personality, Harleen secretly likes the Joker figure.
Harleen then frees the Joker from Arkham Asylum. He later helped the Joker commit crimes by wearing a clown robe under the name Harley Quinn. However, the Joker only took advantage of Harley Quinn and tried several times to get rid of Harley Quinn.
