DJI Releases FPV Drone Can Record First-Person Videos at High Speed

After being preceded by various rumors, DJI finally introduced its new drone called the FPV Drone.

As the name suggests, this drone is specifically intended for video recording from a first-person view (FPV).

FPV videos are commonly shown in various professional car or motorcycle racing events, where the camera shows the racer’s point of view.

because it is designed for FPV, this drone is equipped with many supporting technologies. One of them is the DJI OcuSync technology which allows the drone to have an agile response rate.

So, the drone controller can control the tool quickly to avoid obstacles or objects in front of it.

To see more real and as if he was “flying” in the air, drone operators can also wear an accessory called the DJI FPV Goggles V2.

DJI claims that these glasses are equipped with capable wireless technology with a high bitrate (50 Mbps) which can adjust the rate and speed of the drone when recording video.

DJI itself claims the FPV Drone can accelerate to speeds of 140 km / h with an acceleration rate of 100 km / h in two seconds. This device can also be controlled remotely, a maximum of 10 km.

The DJI FPV Drone itself has several recording modes. Among them are the low-latency standard HD, Smooth, Audience, Normal, Manual, to Sport Mode.

There is also an Emergency Brake and Hover feature to prevent the drone from being hit by another object when traveling at high speed, as well as Visual Positioning Sensors (VPS) which allows the device to land and take off smoothly.

For video recording, this drone supports a 4K format with a frame rate of 60 fps and a bitrate of 120 Mbps. The drone camera can also record 1080p video with a frame rate of 120 fps.

To keep recording stable when maneuvering, DJI also equipped this device with a single-axis gimbal equipped with DJI rockSteady image stabilization technology.

The U DJI FPV Drone is sold in a bundling package (DJI FPV Combo) which costs the US $ 1,299 as summarized. Apart from the drone unit, users will also get a remote controller, FPV Goggles V2, supporting cables, and one battery.

Several other components are sold separately, such as two packages of Intelligent Flight Batteries and a charging hub which sells for US $ 299, and the Motion Controller which is sold for the US $ 199.
